Our Investigations Team, Our Experience

Stopline’s investigators have more than 140 combined years of experience in policing and conducting financial, criminal and conduct investigations.

Since inception in 2001, Stopline has delivered outcomes of reviews and investigations that have been defensible and have led to action and change.  Matters investigated have included fraud, corruption, bullying, workplace misconduct, financial mismanagement, conflict of interest, and policy non-compliance across Local, State and Federal Government departments and corporate entities. 

Stopline prides itself on only employing and using ethical and professional staff.  Our investigative team have demonstrated ethical careers within the State Government, Victoria Police, Australian Federal Police and private industry.

Some Government Departments and corporate entities have specific requirements for the conduct of investigations. Stopline understand these requirements and can tailor individual responses as required to ensure compliance to policies and procedures.

Stopline offer an internal forensic IT and cyber incident response service, providing the skills and equipment to capture, analyse and report on electronically stored information from any device.

Stopline’s investigation services can ascertain the chain of events and assist in protecting your people and organisation from further harm. Wherever possible, we help to reverse any damage that has been caused.  A major component of our service is to give you complete confidence in the outcome of the investigation. You can take the right steps, with authority, knowing that both the impartiality of the investigators and the integrity of the process will withstand the toughest scrutiny. However, due process does not equate to painting by numbers. We bring to the task experience and expertise that enables us to take a faster and more direct route to determining what happened, who did it, how, why, where and when.

The Stopline investigation team have the skills to rapidly-unearth information, establish the connections between people and events, gather supporting evidence from multiple angles and layers, decipher what is factual and what is not, and document the findings.  Frequently, we can also provide guidance on how to prevent or minimise future risk.

Our team are competent in a range of evidence gathering techniques which include interviewing people, identification of physical evidence, the importance of evidence management and preparation of formal reports or briefs of evidence.

Stopline’s former law enforcement personnel have all studied at the Victoria Police Detective Training School (DTS) at some time during their policing careers and between them have conducted hundreds of criminal investigations from theft through to homicide investigations.  Our experienced team have all managed an investigation from the beginning to the end and have prepared and presented hundreds of briefs of evidence for Court. 

Stopline’s staff have experience in documenting findings in formal reports and presenting that evidence in a formal hearing, such Fair Work Australia or a before a Board of Directors.  These examples of formal hearings can be as challenging as presenting evidence in a criminal court because of the level of scrutiny involved in presenting the evidence even though the burden of proof may not be considered as high as a criminal hearing.
